Notices from the Board of Directors:

HHBA Annual Meeting:  please mark Saturday, September 3rdon your calendar.  This is the date for this year’s Houston Heights Beach Association Annual Meeting.  Start time is 10:00 am.

Speed limit in HoustonHeights– 20 km/h. Concerns have been raised (again) about the speed with which drivers move along Dr. George Smith Avenue.  The existing signs and speed bumps do not seem to be creating the desired effect – that is, driving slowly in our community.  Remember that our roadway is used frequently by our children/grandchildren and our residents.  Particularly worrying are the areas of our road along the park, at the entrances to the walkways to the beach and the S-curve at the entrance toHoustonHeights. Please remind your renters, your guests, tradespeople and yourself  to drive slowly in our community.

Wind Turbines in Bluewater.  Do you realize that the installation of industrial wind turbines in Bluewater is almost certain?  To learn more about the relationship between these turbines and the communities in which they are constructed, plan to see the award-winning documentary film Windfall.  Sonsored by BSRA, the film is being shown at the Bayfield Town Hall at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, August 10th.  Admission is $5.00 – at the door.
